A series of car crashes have led to tragedy over the Bank Holiday weekend with at least nine deaths on the roads.
A driver in his 20s died and his four passengers were seriously injured after their BMW left the east bound carriageway of the M25 today and hit a tree.
A 61-year-old also died after an early-morning lorry crash on the M5 near Birmingham.
A black Vauxhall Insignia and a white Skoda Octavia collided on the M62 leaving two men dead.
Adam Afsar, 34, and Jason Wilby, 27, died in a horror crash on the M62 after a car travelling in the wrong direction smashed into another vehicle.

The driver of the Vauxhall, a 22-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing a roadside breath test following the crash that happened at junction 26 near Bradford, West Yorkshire at 2.34am this morning.
Adam Afsar’s mother Tish Peace has spoken out about the loss of her son.
‘He is not dead, but closing his eyes until I can be with him’ she told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner .
‘He was the eldest and the light of my life.
‘His partner Katie Town-Jones came round this morning and told me. He and Jason were best friends and went everywhere together. I have not been able to see my son’s body yet.
‘I will remember him forever. I went to see Jason’s mum today. She was what you would expect in these circumstances, she has lost her son’ she said.
Adam, a father-of-two, was on his first shift working for Dewsbury company Harris Pets Transport.
His friend Jason was accompanying him as it was late at night.

The road is currently closed westbound between junction 27 and junction 26.
The force said in a statement: ‘At 2:34am on Monday 2 April, officers received a report of a vehicle driving the wrong way down the M62; travelling eastbound on the westbound carriageway at junction 26.
‘Further calls to police reported a collision on the carriageway – officers attended and located two vehicles on the motorway.

‘The vehicles involved were a white Skoda Octavia and a black Vauxhall Insignia.
‘Two males, aged 34 and 37, were found deceased in the white vehicle.
‘A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene for causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody at this time.
‘Anyone with any information about the collision is asked to contact the police via 101 quoting log number *212 of 2 April.’

In Swanage, Dorset, a 70-year-old jogger was crushed by a runaway car as he ran along the beach.
The jogger was knocked down by a Vauxhall Zafira people carrier that had veered across the promenade backwards and plunged off the 4ft sea well.
The victim was trapped under the vehicle and had to be freed before ambulance paramedics made desperate attempts to revive him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene along with a dog that was also hit by the vehicle.
The driver of the Zafira, a local woman aged in her 60s, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police have urged drivers to take care amid the carnage on one of the busiest days of the year on the road as motorists make their way home following Easter getaways.
The crash which killed a young driver on the M25 between junctions 5 and 6 at Clackett Lane, near Oxted in Surrey, closed the road this morning.
A spokesman for Surrey Police said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision on the M25 earlier this morning.

‘At around 2.40am a blue BMW was traveling east-bound near to junctions 6-5 just before Clacket lane Services, when it left the road and hit a tree.
‘Sadly the driver, a man in his 20s, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. Four passengers were also injured, two seriously, and are receiving hospital treatment.’
The victim has not yet been named.
Meanwhile a truck hit a barrier on the motorway before slowing to a stop just before 5.15am. The driver was taken to hospital but died from his injuries, West Midlands Police said.
Junctions two to three southbound for Oldbury and Halesowen remained closed throughout the morning.

Officers say the road closures remain in place in both directions of the M62 while enquiries continue.
On Sunday, Kavana Taylor, 21, died when the BMW 1 Series he was driving collided with a Volkswagen Polo in Rochdale, at around 1.30am near Castleway Railway Station.
In the early hours on Easter Sunday, another man in his 20s died ‘after lying in the middle of the road’.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene in Halstead, Essex.
He was hit as he lay down in the middle of Braintree Road.
Father-of-three Karl Chester was killed on the M62 on Good Friday.
The 36-year-old from Preston died following a collision with a blue Nissan Qashqai near Scammonden Reservoir, Rishworth Moor.
