JAGUARS GAMEDAY
JAGUARS (10-5) AT TITANS (8-7)
4:25 p.m., CBS, 1010-AM, 92.5-FM, 99.1-FM
THREE STORY LINES
TARGET: 1,000 YARDS
Jaguars tailback Leonard Fournette’s chances for NFL Rookie of the Year long ago disappeared, the product of his health (ankle, quad injuries) and the production of players like Kansas City’s Kareem Hunt, Rams receiver Cooper Kupp and two New Orleans players (cornerback Marshon Lattimore and tailback Alvin Kamara). Fournette enters Sunday with 971 yards rushing (eighth in the league) and it would still be a good achievement for the Jaguars to have their first 1,000-yard rusher since 2011.
WATCHING WALKER
Priority A for Tennessee’s coaching staff should be using play action and having tight end Delanie Walker running routes out of the backfield. The Jaguars struggled in their accounting for fullback Kyle Juszczyk last week (five catches, 76 yards) when they bit on the play fake and didn’t recover in time. Walker leads the Titans with 71 catches and is tied for the team lead with 788 receiving yards. He has at least four catches in eight of his 10 career games against the Jaguars, including two eight-catch games.
YULEE BULLDOZER
Second-year Titans tailback Derrick Henry, a native of Yulee, has never carried more than 19 times in an NFL regular season game. That could change Sunday in Tennessee’s biggest game of the season. Veteran DeMarco Murray sustained a knee injury against the Rams last week and even if he’s active, his workload will be limited. Henry has 11 games of double-digit carries in two years. His high game is 19 carries for 131 yards earlier this year against Indianapolis. What an opportunity for Henry against him hometown team.
TWO KEY MATCHUPS
CB JALEN RAMSEY VS. TITANS WR RISHARD MATTHEWS
Back in Week 2, the Jaguars were committed to playing Ramsey and A.J. Bouye on their respective sides of the field. And back in Week 2, the Titans wanted nothing to do with Ramsey, throwing his way in man coverage just one time (incompletion). Since midseason, though, the Jaguars have traveled Ramsey with the opponent’s top receiver. Last week, the 49ers were 4-of-6 passing for 48 yards against Ramsey. Matthews is the Titans’ top receiver (788 yards on 52 catches) and the Jaguars should assign him to Ramsey.
LT CAM ROBINSON VS. TITANS OLB BRIAN ORAKPO
During his rookie year, Robinson has had big pass protection problems in two games: Week 2 vs. Tennessee and Week 10 vs. the Los Angeles Chargers. In the loss to the Titans, Robinson gave up one sack, one knockdown and three pressures – all by Orakpo. Robinson has allowed 3 1/2 sacks all year. Orakpo is a four-time Pro Bowler whose statistics have tailed off this year (six sacks in 15 games), but he still has the ability to get around the edge and pressure the passer.
STAT THAT MATTERS
11/9
Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles won 11 games in his first three years (11-34 record) and has nine wins this year (9-5 record).
THE JAGUARS WILL WIN IF …
The Jaguars’ defense – wounded by last week’s performance against the 49ers – plays with a chip and intercepts Marcus Mariota two times. … Quarterback Blake Bortles plays interception-free and posts a 100 passer rating for the fourth time in five games. … Tailback Leonard Fournette (971 yards) reaches 1,000 and scores two touchdowns.
THE TITANS WILL WIN IF …
The Jaguars start off flat like they did in their last two road games (Arizona/San Francisco). … Jaguars coach Doug Marrone decides to taper back on the playing time of players like defensive end Calais Campbell and tight end Marcedes Lewis. … Tennessee wins the turnover battle for the first time in eight games.

PREDICTIONS
RYAN O’HALLORAN
TITANS 24, JAGUARS 20
We go with Team Desperate over The Better Team. Regardless of the result, what is important for the Jaguars is to re-discover their running game and play with the kind of fire defensively that marked the first three-plus months of the year.
Season record: 8-7
JOHN REID
TITANS 20, JAGUARS 16
Although the Jaguars are locked in as the No. 3 AFC playoff seed, coach Doug Marrone intends to play his starters and made a point to say they are going to Nashville to win. But the Titans have far more at stake. They need a win over the Jaguars to earn a playoff berth. That alone gives them an edge, along with playing at home. It wouldn’t be a surprise if all of the Jaguars starters are on the sideline by the fourth quarter.
Season record: 6-9
PHILLIP HEILMAN
JAGUARS 20, TITANS 17
The reason the Titans are Team Desperate is because they aren’t very good. Quarterback Marcus Mariota has thrown more interceptions (15) than anyone not named DeShone Kizer this season, and he will add two more Sunday.
Season record: 6-9
