Police have launched an urgent appeal to find a suspect following the fatal stabbing of a man in Barnstaple, North Devon.
The victim, in his 30s, was pronounced dead at hospital after being stabbed multiple times on Friday evening at the Barnstaple Retail Park in Station Road.
Police have launched a murder inquiry and released an image of the man they are seeking in connection to the incident.
The suspect was wearing a blue bandana, black jacket, shorts and silver-coloured calf length boots with yellow stripy socks.
He is described as having heavily tattooed arms and was carrying a brown/mushroom coloured rucksack.
Detective superintendent Mike West, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: “We have taken the rare step of releasing the image of a person we are actively seeking in connection to tonight’s death.
“We are currently treating this as a murder investigation, and the man pictured is someone we are actively trying to locate and apprehend.
“We are appealing to the public for their assistance – we believe that someone will know who this man is and they need to contact the police immediately.”
He added: “We cannot rule out that this individual is still armed and dangerous. If you know who he is or have any information that can help police locate the individual, do not approach him and contact 999 immediately.
“If you are the man pictured and are reading this appeal, please contact the police immediately and hand yourself in.”
